Miami Hurricanes: Former Clemson WR Frank Ladson is coming home

The Miami Hurricanes were able to get a big pick up for their wide receiver room on Saturday afternoon. Former Clemson wide receiver Frank Ladson announced he was transferring to the program.

Ladson is coming home. He was a highly-coveted wide receiver out of Miami South Dade. A member of the class of 2019, he decided to take his talents to Clemson.

In three seasons with the Tigers, he caught 31 passes for 428 yards and six touchdowns. Injury problems and Covid-19 issues derailed his career at Clemson a bit. Even still, he was able to produce when given the opportunities.

Ladson will have a chance to be a big-time contributor. When you look at all of the wide receiver talent that the Miami hurricanes lost, there will be room for him to make an impact. Charleston Rambo, Mark Pope, and Mike Harley are just some of the names that Miami lost at wide receiver.

Measuring in at six-foot-three, 205 pounds, Ladson should fit very well in Miami’s offense. He brings a big-play threat at the receiver position, and he can get downfield. We saw him do it at Clemson, and he should be able to bring the same element of play to Miami. He is also good on intermediate routes. In this respect, he can use his speed on things such as slant plays to make things happen after the catch.

Ladson is the perfect fit for this style of football that is played today. He gives the Miami Hurricanes a big-time weapon. With Tyler Van Dyke showing that he is one of the up-and-coming quarterbacks in college football, this could be a very good match for both receiver and quarterback.

I’m definitely excited to see how Ladson is going to fit into this offense. he has the size and play-making ability to be a top weapon
