Could the Green Bay Packers Go to the Super Bowl In 2026?

The Super Bowl has passed in what was an exciting season for everyone except Green Bay Packers fans. Once again, it ended up a disappointing season for the Wisconsin faithful, who lost in the first-round playoffs to eventual champions Philadelphia Eagles. While there’s no shame in losing to the eventual champ, Packers fans expected more out of the team and could have done so much more if the pieces fell in the right place.

Unfortunately, Jordan Love was injured for most of the season, and the rest of the team simply couldn’t execute Matt LeFleur’s plans. What’s good is that the squad has a mix of young talent and great veterans that can spell a championship-calibre season next year.

What’s Next for the Packers?

Fresh off a first-round playoff run, it’s tough to tell what’ll happen with the Packers next season. Can they make a run at the Super Bowl in 2026? For sure. It all depends on the likes of Jordan Love; how committed and healthy he is. Key players like this will contribute a lot to any Green Bay Packers trophies won in the near future. The last one came in 2010 after a long drought (from 1996), and Packers fans might need to wait a bit longer than that gap for the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Some good news here. Jordan Love is a seriously talented player, and he’s surrounded by proper talent too. Most of his current teammates including Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Tucker Craft, Luke Musgrave, and Christian Watson will be there next season. Jeff Hafley is an elite defensive coordinator, and with an added receiver in the offseason, Matt LeFleur’s team could be back for scary hours.

The key to it all is Love’s health. He has been plagued by injuries lately, and such has been the tale this season too. However, the fifth-year QB has shown incredible capacity in two years as a starter, while displaying some lows as well. Experience and consistency are key for Love’s growth, and the Packers should have a good plan for him going forward.

Activity in the Offseason

Despite Love’s talent and Hafley’s coordination, it’s pretty clear that the Packers still need more help. The management has done a good job last offseason by adding free agents Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney. Former Pro Bowlers, both players have shown glimpses of quality last season, and they’ll return for the next stretch too.

But, the Packers should be in the news with even more additions if they want to have a good and deep run in the playoffs. The season has just ended, and there will be a lot of free agents available during the offseason. Matt LeFleur knows how his team works and where it’s the thinnest, and he’ll obviously ask management for new additions. The Green Bay Packers are one team that can be dominant in the future, so attracting top talent shouldn’t be a huge issue.

The draft will be important too. The team has a first-round draft pick that lands around number 24. It all depends on how the wild card round plays out. Before that, the Packers have their own picks in the first 6 rounds, and an estimated $51.2 million in salary cap space in 2025. That’s the 10th-most in the NFL in 2025.

All of the pieces are in place for a solid run, and by strengthening the squad in key positions, the Green Bay Packers might be in line for a 2026 Super Bowl run. Things don’t happen overnight, and current players need to step up as well if the team is to succeed.

Health should be a priority for most. Jaire Alexander only appeared in 7 games last season. Jordan Love’s highs and lows and his injuries have been frustrating. With a few good moves and his consistency, he can become an elite player, and the Packers must make this happen.

It’s been a very long drought for Packers fans, who are eager to take a trip to the Super Bowl next year. It will certainly be a challenge, but it’s one challenge the Pack can overcome. The NFL is in dire need of some variety, and with the Kansas City Chiefs dethroned, teams such as the Packers can build new dynasties that can thrive going forward.
